Teeth whitening is a great way to restore your smile if your teeth have been stained by beverages like tea, coffee, and wine, or tobacco use. We use high-quality chemical whitening products, and offer both in-office and take-home whitening.
Our in-office whitening services use UV whitening tools to boost the whitening power of our products, providing you with a smile that’s 5+ shades brighter in just one appointment. In-office whitening is a great option if you need rapid results for a special occasion.
Take-home whitening kits offer more gradual, subtle results. You’ll get a set of custom-made trays from Dr. Julia, then you’ll just treat yourself at home according to her instructions for several weeks. The end results will be identical to in-office whitening, but you’ll spend less time in the dentist’s chair!
Dental bonding can be used to restore teeth with cosmetic flaws like stains, minor chips, gaps, and more. It consists of a tooth-colored resin that Dr. Julia will apply directly to your teeth. Dr. Julia will shape and sculpt the resin to restore your smile. Then, it will be hardened with a UV light, and trimmed and buffed to ensure it looks just like part of your natural tooth.
Enameloplasty is also often used to restore your teeth along with dental bonding. It’s sometimes called “bonding and contouring.” In this procedure, Dr. Julia treats flaws like minor chips, pointed teeth, and uneven bites by removing a very thin layer of enamel. This provides you with a smile you’ll feel confident to flash!
Veneers are wafer-thin dental prostheses made of porcelain. They are similar to dental crowns, but are intended to only cover up the fronts of your teeth. By doing so, they can cover up almost any cosmetic flaw with your smile.
It only takes 2 appointments over a period of 2-3 weeks to completely restore your smile with veneers. Once attached, veneers require no special care beyond brushing and flossing, and they can easily last 10-15 years or longer, making them the longest-lasting cosmetic treatment.
People will not necessarily know that you have had a cosmetic treatment done unless they knew what your teeth looked like before. Cosmetic treatments such as veneers, teeth whitening, enameloplasty, and dental bonding all look very natural.
At Kite & Key Dentistry, we are committed to delivering the highest quality results that not only look but also feel incredibly natural. Veneers and Dental bonding are made of porcelain and composite resin, which are tooth-colored. We file down your enamel and take impressions of your teeth to construct veneers that blend into your mouth seamlessly, without jutting outward.
Whitening treatments will enhance your smile and do not need to look gimmicky. While in-office whitening can lighten your teeth by up to 5 shades, if you’re looking for a more gradual and natural appearance, at-home whitening may be a better choice for you. We’ll create custom whitening trays for you to wear for 2 weeks to produce subtly whiter teeth.
Enameloplasty is often combined with dental bonding or veneers depending on the desired goal. Enameloplasty is just the shaving and contouring of the enamel and is often used to blend an uneven tooth in with the rest of the teeth to create a more uniform appearance.
Veneers are made out of stain-resistant materials, such as porcelain. This makes them harder to stain than your natural teeth but does not mean they are completely immune to discoloration over time. If you regularly smoke or consume staining foods and drinks and neglect dental cleanings, surface stains can build up.
Veneers cannot be whitened like natural teeth so it is important to prevent staining by practicing good oral hygiene, getting dental cleanings every 6 months, and avoiding smoking and staining foods or drinks. A dental cleaning can remove surface stains that cause discoloration, but severely stained veneers could need to be replaced.
Veneers cannot “fix” crooked teeth in the sense that they are a cosmetic treatment that covers up imperfections but does nothing to correct the problem lying beneath the veneers. While orthodontic treatments such as braces and Invisalign shift the teeth into their proper alignment, veneers simply cover up the appearance of crooked teeth, but they are still there.
Does having crooked teeth impact your ability to be a candidate for veneers? This depends on the severity of your alignment issues, if they impact your ability to keep your teeth clean, and if you have an improper bite.
For minor alignment issues such as slightly crooked teeth, you may benefit from veneers. However, severely crooked teeth or a misaligned bite can cause other oral health problems and can affect how your veneers look. In this case, you may need to undergo orthodontic treatment before having veneers placed on your teeth.
The best way to determine if you are a good candidate for veneers is to come in for a consultation with Dr. Julia Winter. Contact us at Kite & Key Dentistry today to schedule an appointment and get started on your journey to improve your smile.
As long as your mouth is healthy and free of major orthodontic problems and oral health issues like damaged teeth and gum disease, you’re likely a good candidate for cosmetic dentistry. Learn more about your options with an appointment at Kite & Key Dentistry®.
